Compatible accessories and licences
Licence (Meraki managed) iMeraki devices need a valid licence to be managed. The licence follows the model and comes in 1–10 years. Enterprise gives the core features; Advanced Security (MX) or Advanced adds more features. Read the guide: How Cisco licensing works →4 options
Storage (M.2) iThe module adds ports to the switch or router. The number is the port count and the letter the speed: G = 1G, X = 10G, Y = 25G, Q = 40G, C = 100G, M = multigigabit copper. Transceivers are ordered separately. Read the guide: Uplink modules – which one? →2 options
Power supply iA second power supply gives redundancy and can raise the switch's total PoE budget. Larger power supplies are needed if many ports must deliver high PoE. Read the guide: PoE – is there enough power? →2 options
