Compatible accessories and licences
Licence iMeraki devices need a valid licence to be managed. The licence follows the model and comes in 1–10 years. Enterprise gives the core features; Advanced Security (MX) or Advanced adds more features. Read the guide: How Cisco licensing works →8 options
Power supply (not included) iA second power supply gives redundancy and can raise the switch's total PoE budget. Larger power supplies are needed if many ports must deliver high PoE. Read the guide: PoE – is there enough power? →3 options
Transceivers 1G SFP iEvery fibre port needs a transceiver. SR = multimode fibre within the building, LR = single-mode up to 10 km, T = copper (RJ45). Between switches in the same rack a DAC cable (CU) is cheapest. Read the guide: Transceivers and cables – what fits? →3 options
